Sufferance follows Luke Tewalt, a distance running prodigy in his senior year at Wake Forest University as he competes in the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships. Fresh off of his 4th place individual finish in last year’s NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 5000m, Luke enters the final cross country race of his senior year under hulking expectations. But when a bad start snowballs into an even worse finish, he is forced to watch an entire season’s worth of work crumble in front of him. This film won Best Cinematography and Best Picture at the 2024 Carmichaels Film Festival.

This documentary follows my friends and I’s trip to Tamarindo, Costa Rica. I throughly documented this trip knowing I wanted to make a film out of it, but couldn’t decide on the angle. However, once I was tasked with making an “archive film” for one of my Documentary Film Program’s classes, I knew this would be the perfect opportunity. It’s a story about living spontaneously, and finding comfort in uncomfortable situations.

This documentary follows Rachel Kuehn, a top women’s amateur golfer and NCAA champion, as she confronts her battle with mental health. The film highlights the often-overlooked issue of mental health within the NCAA, aiming to raise awareness and offer support to those facing similar struggles by sharing Rachel’s powerful story.
